Welding rotators provide a mechanical method to rotate cylindrical vessels, minimising handling, increasing efficiency and dramatically improving the quality of workmanship from welders of all skill levels.
Welding Rotators
Redrock supplies conventional and self-aligning rotators to suit various sizes of weldments across multiple sectors and engineering projects. For steelworks with cylindrical vessels, be those small diameter piping to large offshore wind projects, welding rotators will be beneficial – and sometimes a necessity.
If circumferential welding is required, welding rotators will make a huge difference to most welding applications including, SAW, TIG, MIG and MMA.
Redrock is equipped with a range of rotators including pipe rollers and tank turning rolls that are suitable for multiple industries and welds.
Frequently Asked Questions
Conventional rotators are ideal for performing both industrial welding and fitting out operations involving smaller or larger diameter vessels with longer length sections which sometimes require enhanced turning capacity.
Redrock’s conventional rotators are suitable for industrial welding applications requiring a higher load capacity of up to 2,000 tonnes. Our conventional rotators are suited to a wide range of fabrication shop setups. The wheel centre diameters can be adjusted manually with speed. All our welding rotators use replaceable polyurethane tyres, mounted to cast steel drums to give the units durability and superior traction.
As standard with all our welding equipment, a low-voltage remote-control pendant is included to give your operators full control over forward/reverse/stop/emergency stop and a potentiometer for variable rotation speed.
Self-aligning rotators are suited to multiple applications including boilers, tanks, heat exchangers, barrels and pressure vessels.
Redrock’s self-aligning rotators are robustly built with high-load capacities of up to 200 tonnes. Our self-aligning drive units are fitted with dual-sided motorised wheels and idling units allowing free-wheeling, making it easier to load vessels onto the rotator without damaging the drive unit.
Our self-aligning rotators utilise roller modules that adjust to accommodate the diameter automatically. A range of specifications can be accommodated, including various diameters and rotation speeds.
With the use of welding rotators, your processes will benefit from:
Self-aligning rotators can provide faster load times with mechanical drive, where the wheel brackets and the wheels will automatically align any size of a cylindrical vessel.
The top rollers on self-aligning rotators have freewheeling rollers, minimising the risk of damaging the drive unit from improper loading techniques.
Four rollers instead of two give you the support rigidity on larger diameter applications.
Our various models are well-suited for different load capacities, with 2,000t conventional welding rotators and up to 500t self-aligning welding rotators. We offer numerous features and customisation options to provide the best possible result and weld quality, including enhanced safety features and a remote-control pendant supplied as standard.
All our welding equipment is fully serviced, warrantied for three years and fully tested before dispatch, so you can ensure your welding rotators are suitable for extensive use.
The Redrock team is committed to providing you with the optimal rotators for your needs that will increase productivity – our highly experienced professionals can advise you on the right rotators that will suit your requirements.
